The Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities at the University of Central Florida (the Center) invites local public and private schools (operating pursuant to s. 1002.42) serving students in grades 9 – 12 to apply for resources to establish a Florida College and Career Transition Club (CCT Club).

The purpose of the CCT Clubs is to increase awareness of Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program opportunities and help students with intellectual disabilities prepare for and access those opportunities across Florida. CCT Clubs will be inclusive, with membership adequately representing these three groups: (1) students with intellectual disabilities, (2) students with disabilities other than intellectual disabilities, and (3) students without disabilities. Club advisors will support students to learn and explore career pathways and postsecondary education options. Students will work together to identify and explore college and career opportunities, engage in mentoring, and participate in events and activities within the school, community, and at local IHEs to build college and career transition plans.

The Center will provide funds to cover a CCT Club sponsor stipend and club activities beginning as early as September 1, 2023.

Annual Report: For established CCT Clubs, the Annual Report is due June 4, 2023 - August 4th, 2023. The Annual Reports will be completed in the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities Canvas course as well. Club sponsors and principals will receive an invitation from Canvas to access the FCSUA CCT Clubs Canvas course.

Renewal Application: Schools renewing their CCT Clubs will need to complete the renewal application in the FCSUA CCT Clubs Canvas course. Each CCT Club may renew every two years. For example, CCT Clubs that submitted a renewal application last year do not need to submit one this year. Renewal Applications will be accepted June 4, 2023 - August 4th, 2023.

Initial Application: Schools interested in starting a new CCT Club must complete the initial application. To request access to the initial application, complete the form to the right. Initial applications will be accepted through April 4, 2023 - August 4th, 2023.
